Located in the high mountains of
Preston County, West Virginia, near the Maryland border, Crooked Stump Farm
is a breeder of purebred American Highland Cattle Association registered
Scottish Highland Cattle. This breed is well suited to its Snowy Creek
location, weather, and elevation. Go to
www.highlandcattleusa.org/ for more information on this unique and hardy
breed of cattle.
We usually have calves for sale
including both bulls and heifers in white, shades of dun, blonde, and reds.
Contact the farm by email:
zimarowski@frontiernet.net for more information and availability.
In addition, Crooked Stump Farm produces "HighAngus" beef cattle which is a crossbreed between the Scottish
Highland and the more traditional black Angus beef cattle. Like the pure
Highland beef, it too has a unique taste and is notably lean.
Crooked Stump Farm also produces a
limited number of beautiful, friendly, and intelligent Jerusalem donkeys for
sale. Donkeys are now regularly being recognized as excellent watch
animals for livestock (as long as they're raised with livestock) and add a
colorful dimension to any farm.
Crooked Stump Farm cattle are
watched over by "Festus", a Jerusalem Jack donkey, and "Toby" a Queensland
red heeler. Both animals add their own unique personality to the farm.
